A snapshot of what I’m doing, watching, reading, and thinking about right now - updated whenever life shifts enough to matter.
12th November, 2025
It’s well into autumn now — unusually mild for the time of year — so here’s what I’m up to now.
Reading
This Way Up: When Maps Go Wrong (And Why It Matters) by Mark Cooper-Jones and Jay Foreman
I’ve been a huge fan of the Map Men YouTube series for a long time now, and I’m excited for their first book. A nice read for a cosy evening.
Watching
Autumn is classic TV season, and right now, it’s a mix of Taskmaster, Welcome to Derry (not to be confused with Derry Girls!), and Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars on Apple TV.
The Celebrity Traitors was absolute chaos, and I’m looking forward to the latest (and final) series of A League of their Own. Definitely feels like the time to lay the show to rest with a good send off series!
Movie wise, recently I’ve watched Jurassic World: Rebirth (bit of a miss with this one I think), and The Roses (a surprisingly funny movie with Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch - although erring on the stupid side toward the end). Looking forward to Running Man and Wicked For Good as the next watches.
Listening
I’ve been buried deep in the Architects back-catalogue recently. Something about their mix of precision and emotion fits the season. It’s heavy but strangely hopeful; perfect background for dark evenings and long walks through London.
I’m also spinning Frank Turner’s new LP - The Next Ten Years. Recent controversies aside (don’t all musicians have those?), his music always resonates well with me.
Doing
It’s Christmas Shopping season for me - I like to be done, to all intents and purposes, by the end of November, leaving December to actually enjoy the festivities.
It’s also Christmas Party season, which fills me with dread just thinking about my social battery!
December will be for mulled wine, Turkey and all the trimmings, and time off work for recovery.
